Sweeney Todd

Rehearsals

Our normal rehearsal date /time is Weds, 7:30-10pm
As we did so successfully last year, we will not start full cast rehearsals until 5th Feb. The 4 weeks prior to this will be Principals only, with auditions for principal roles on Sunday 12th January
As we approach performance week we will increase to TWO rehearsals per week for last 4 weeks (the additional session will be Mondays )
There will still be a total of 20 main rehearsals and as such subs will remain at the same level as past couple of years at £95

Auditions

These will be held on Sunday 12th January. These are for principal roles only. There is no formal audition for chorus/company. If you are new to the society we will ask you to undertake a voice trial to check you're in the right section. (Very occasionally, by exception and at the Musical Director's discretion, we reserve the right to ask someone not to sing/perform)
Click here to access the Auditions page and tell us which role you wish to audition for

Principal auditions will be held on this day only. Decisions will be made based on the auditions on that day.

Sponsorship/Advertising

Did you know? Typically our staged productions have costs of around £13,000 to present.  Sweeney will have production costs in the excess of £14,000. To help us ensure we can cover these costs we undertake a number of initiatives:-

  • Show Sponsor - sponsor an orchestra player/part of the set/ costumes depending on production

  • Event Sponsor-For the past few years we have been lucky enough to have the support of Bicester Village as official event sponsor, with their logo on posters, tickets & programmes. We're delighted to confirm they have agreed to do this again.

  • Adverts - We need adverts for the programme. Costs & advert sizes:
    Full page : £80, Half page : £50, Quarter page : £30

Rehearsals:

While the first few weeks will focus on music rather than 'production', music rehearsals will be staggered throughout the entire rehearsal run. As a consequence, and like our choral performances, you should aim to attend a minimum of 75% of the rehearsals to participate in the show, along with some mandatory dates.
We ask all participants to complete an NA (Not Available) form. Please complete an NA form as soon as possible,
not later than 31st December,
in order that a rehearsal schedule can be drawn up around everyone's availability.

NB: Please complete it even if you can make all the rehearsals. The NA form is your 'commitment' to the production. Please avoid making any changes after submission.

COSTUME CALL: There will be 2 dates for this  TBC

Unlike our choral performances, by exception and at the discretion of the director(s), you may be able to miss additional rehearsals, but this may mean you are unable to participate in certain scenes.
