Rehearsals and N/A Form

The first few weeks will focus on music rather than 'production'.  Music rehearsals will continueto be staggered throughout the entire rehearsal run.

As a consequence, and like our choral performances, you should aim to attend a minimum of 75% of the rehearsals to participate in the show, along with some mandatory dates.

Unlike our choral performances, by exception and at the discretion of the director(s), you may be able to miss additional rehearsals, but this may mean you are unable to participate in certain scenes.

We ask all participants to complete an NA (Not Available) form. Please complete an NA form as soon as possible, not later than 31st December, in order that a rehearsal schedule can be drawn up around everyone's availability.

NB: Please complete it even if you can make all the rehearsals.

The NA form is your 'commitment' to the production.

Please avoid making any changes after submission.

Costumes

There will be two weekends for this:

  • Sat 14th & Sun 15th March

  • Sat 2nd Sun 3rd May

Please avoid booking any holidays/commitments over these dates if possible

In addition, Weds 14th & 21st Jan will be used to capture principals' measurements

Sue & Nic will coordinate all these dates/slots.

Principle Characters
/ Cast

This year, the cast will be made up of Principals (listed below), 'moving' chorus (on stage, costumed and acting), and 'static' chorus (on stage, costumed but effectively 'a choir', seated and singing from scores on music stands - we require a minimum of 8 people for this to work. Less than 8 people means we will scrap this concept).

Roles not listed below (Mrs Potiphar, Baker, Butler) will be cast from within the wider ensemble during rehearsal

The maximum size of the cast will be approx. 40 members.

Auditions

Auditions will be held on Sunday, 11th January 2026.

These auditions are for principal roles only.

There are no formal auditions for the chorus/company. Principal auditions will be held on this day only. Decisions will be made based on the auditions on that day.

If you are new to the society, we will ask you to undertake a vocal trial to check that you are in the right section. Very occasionally, by exception and at the Musical Director's discretion, we reserve the right to ask someone not to sing/perform.)

Click here to access the Auditions page, and tell us which role(s) you wish to audition for.

Sponsorship and Advertising

Did you know?

Typically our staged productions have costs of around £13,000 to present, and Joesph will be no exception!

To help us ensure we can cover these costs, we undertake a number of initiatives:

  • Show sponsor - Sponsor an orchestra player/part of the set/costumes, depending on the production

  • Event sponsor - For the past few years we have been lucky enough to have the support of Bicester Village as our official event sponsor, with their logo on posters, tickets and programmes. We are delighted to confirm they have agreed to do this again for Joseph!

  • Adverts - We need adverts for the programme. Know a business or company that would be interested in advertising to over 180 people a night and supporting a beloved local society? Tell them to get in touch.

For more information and pricing of sponsorship, please see the sponsorship page.
