BCOS performs a wide range of choral music in Bicester, Oxfordshire, UK, covering oratorio, musical shows, concerts and operetta.
Stuart Hubble was delighted to be appointed as Director of Music for BCOS in February 2002.
As well as teaching music as Magdalen College School in Brackley, he has also conducted the Brackley Jubilee Choir since November 2000. In addition, he has been musical director of a number of stage shows, including Little Shop of Horrors, Gypsy, A Night at the Theatre and the Kander and Ebb show And the World Goes Round, as well as directing a number of self-devised musical reviews, showcasing the music of Stephen Sondheim and Jason Robert Brown. Stuart's previous conducting work includes the Festival Singers in Aylesbury, Geriband in Oxford and the Brackley Male Voice Choir.
Since graduating from the Music Department of Royal Holloway, University of London, where he was a choral scholar, Stuart has studied singing with Meriel Dickinson. He sang the title role in Britten's Albert Herring for Unicorn Opera in Kent, the roles of Jack and Mark in a concert performance of Tippett's The Midsummer Marriage, Ralph Rackstraw in HMS Pinafore, Nanki Poo in The Mikado, Freddy in My Fair Lady, Nicely Nicely Johnson in Guys and Dolls, Chip in Bernstein’s On the Town and Tobias Ragg in Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd.
